A pilgrimage trip used to be not easy in the past, today it is more easy by the means of the transport. A pligrimage trip to Mt. Kailash, the most sacred mountain in Tibet is sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists from Kathmandu via Nepal's west Simikot region is more interesting. Mt Kaliash is the source of four great asian rivers ( Bramhaputra, Karnali, Sutlej and Indus). For Hindus it is the throne of Shiva, for Buddhists, a gigantic natural Mandala. Also the epicenter of Tantric forces for both religions. This simikot Kailash trek takes you from the far western hill town of Nepal, along the rive side of Humla Karnali, this is an old trade route into Tibet. An arid, wild, country dominated by the peaks of Api and Saipal Himal, this is the world of the Nepalese and Tibetan traders. You will encounter travelers with horses and yaks laden with goods. After a 5 days trek on the Nepal side we take you to Tibetan border market Purang where Nepalese, Tibetan and Indian traders meet to exchange wares. The highlight of the trip is to visit Rakshastal (Devil Lake), the holy Lake of Mansarovar, "born from the mind of Bramha", trek around the Mt. Kailash and visit the ruins of former Gu-ge kingdom with its two main centres of Toling and Tsaparang. The kailash mansarovar trip is not only a interest of pligrimage it is equally mystrious and interesting for nature lovers.

Humla Simikot Karnali region of Nepal is one of the most beautiful area. Simikot Kailash trek is considered as a non-technical trek and suitable for average people. If you are moderately fit and have a sense of adventure will enjoy this trek. The program is designed to acclimatize you gradually and not expected high altitude sickness. However you are requested to check your altitude fitness and the itinerary.

We suggest you to be strong your knee muscles and prepare for several days of steep descents. Some physical fitness programs such as running, swimming, biking or aerobics is recommended, but mostly hiking on steep hills or running up and down steps are preferable.

The Kailash Mansarovar tour can be combined with Everest base camp of Tibet, also can be combined with the north route of Zhangtang area like travel from Ali to Gerge, Gertse, Raga, Saga. Not only that you can travel via Simikot - Limi valley of the most beautiful Himlayan hidden valley in Humla region of Nepal which is recently open for western tourist.

Total duration for this trip can be 28 days, depends on walking distance, weather condition and place to visit. Flight to Simikot or fly back from Simikot is more weather depended and it is better to use one way only since you need to follow the same trail on the way back ( if we do Simikot - Kailash - Simikot option).

Following the Karnali River valley it is one of the nice trail to follow. Since the road from Tibet is planned to connect with simikot air port, this trail will not be trekking trail any more in years to come. High mountain lives, green river valley, sheep and yaks heard, snow-cap mountains, this is really one of the nice treks in Nepal.

At least 4 people in one group is better to have to keep the cost low. The cost of the trips depend on the duration and size of group. Ecological Treks (P.) Ltd. different optional itinerary, we suggest you as our itinerary below.
