Densely inhabited by the Sherpa-one of the ethnic groups of Mongoloid origin in this region. This region is also known as Sherpa Land or house of the Sherpa too. Many foreigners intending to spend the vacation with nature and in natural surroundings full of peace and tranquility choose the trekking tour in this vary region, which they believe to be a source of mental happiness and satisfaction.

This region offers you varieties of trekking exploration. The destinations of the trekking tour in Khumbu region are Kalapattar, Gokyo and Everest Base camp, which can be reached with the shortest trekking tour program. Regarding the

scenery you can see very beautiful open view of mountains such as Thamserku, Amadablam, Baruntse, Makalu, Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, Lhotse Shar and Nuptse etc. from Gokyo. You can take pictures of those terraces from Kalapattar and Island Peak. For two weeks long trekking program, you have to set out your trekking from Lukla-a place, which can be reached by air service from Katmandu.

 

 



Day to Day Itenerary
Day-01: Arrive Katmandu:, Transfer to the hotel. Welcome Dinner in the evening.
Day-02: Sight seeing Kathmandu valley (Breakfast)
Day-03 : Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding (2800m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

A spectacular flight in a Twin Otter 20-seater aircraft with an even more spectacular landing on the 600m airstrip. The trail from Lukla joins the Dudh Kosi main track at Cheplung after a short downhill walk. There follows some gentle up and down to the night stop. An easy start to the trek.

Day-04 : Phakding - Namche Bazar (3440m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

The route now passes through magnificent rhododendron and magnolia forests on the ascent to Namche. At Monjo, we enter the Sagarmatha National Park. Look out for musk deer and Himalayan tahr, and water rats in the Dudh Kosi.

Day-05 : Namche Bazar (3440m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Rest and acclimatisation day. Walk up the western valley from the town to Thamo, visit the nunnery there.
Day-06 : Namche Bazar - Khumjung (3740m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Second acclimatisation day. Transfer to Khumjung via Khunde (3840m) and visit the Everest View Hotel. Short walk.
Day-07 : Khumjung - Dole (4100m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
The trail descends to the Naktok Khola, passing through forests. The trail then continues to follow this river at a fairly constant easy gradient.
Day-08 : Dole - Machhermo (4470m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
We continue along the river. An easy day again, but necessary for the acclimatisation process.
Day-09 : Machhermo - Gokyo (4790m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
The route continues along the river, passing the Ngozumpa Glacier on the right. Gokyo lies by the side of the third of five glacial lakes which are very attractive. In the afternoon, we climb the small peak of Gokyo Ri (5483m) for the stunning view of Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu to the east.
Day-10 : Gokyo (4830m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Walk up the valley alongside the Ngozumba Glacier, the largest in Nepal, and visit the “Fifth Lake”.
Day-11 : Gokyo Further rest and acclimatization day. (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day-12 : Gokyo - Cho La Base Camp (4900m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
After crossing the Ngozumba Glacier below Gokyo we head up towards the pass, crossing two ridges on the way. A fairly short walk but quite strenuous.
Day-13 : Cho La Base Camp - Dzonglha (4830m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
From the campsite we immediately start the climb to the Cho La pass (5420m) and descend to a small campsite in the hidden valley.
Day-14: Dzonghla - Lobuche (4930m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner):
We are now entering more glacier country, and the route follows moraine for much of the way.
Day-15: Lobuche – Gorekhshep 5364m (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Day-16 : Gorekhsgep Kala Pattar (5545m) or Base Camp 5400 m and Back to Lobuche: (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
A long day requiring a 5am start with breakfast in Gorak Shep.
Day-17: Lobuche – Pangbuche (3990 m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
An easy day to recuperate.
Day-18: Pangbuche to Tengbuche (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
A fairly long but easy descent. There is another nunnery in Deboche, which may be visited.
Day-19: Namche Bazar (3440m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
We start with a short ascent to Tengboche, the site of one of Nepal’s most important monasteries where we stop for a while to visit the monastery. We continue the descent with a steep pull up to the ridge from Pungi Tengka, our lunch stop. The ridge then leads down into Namche.
Day-20: Namche Bazar - Lukla (2800m) (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
A fairly easy day
Day- 21: Lukla – Kathmandu (Breakfast and Farewell Dinner)
The equally exciting return flight.
Day-22: Sight seeing in Bhaktapur City, Farewell Dinner
Day-23: Shopping Day Breakfast
Day-24 : Fly back breakfast
